Ekspresi: Menanyakan Tempat atau Arah

Kali ini, saya ingin share tentang menanyakan tempat atau arah. Kita lebih sering mendengarnya "Asking Place and Direction" dalam bahasa Inggris.
Langsung saja biar cepat #MauMahirBerbahasaInggris.
Untuk menanyakan tempat, ada beberapa ungkapan yang bisa digunakan, antara lain:

• Excuse me. Would you tell me where ...
• Excuse me. Could you tell me where ...
• Excuse me. Would you mind telling me where ...

Ketiga ekspresi di atas artinya kurang lebih, "Permisi. Maukah Anda memberi tahu saya di mana ..."
Contoh:

1. Excuse me. Would you tell me where the nearest mosque is?
2. Excuse me. Could you tell me where Mbak Mul Restaurant is?
3. Excuse me. Would you mind telling me where ATM centre is?

Ekspresi untuk menanyakan tempat yang lainnya:

• Will you tell me where ...
• Can you tell me where ...

Artinya, "Maukah kamu memberi tahu saya dimana ..."
Contoh:

1. Will you tell me where the hospital is?
2. Can you tell me where the post office is?

Ekspresi menanyakan tempat yang lainnya:

• Do you know where ...

Artinya, "Apakah kamu tahu dimana ..."
Contoh:

1. Do you know where the nearest bank?

Untuk menanyakan arah, ada beberapa ungkapan yang bisa digunakan, antara lain:

• Would you tell me the way to ...
• Could you tell me the way to ...
• Would you mind telling me the way to ...

Artinya kurang lebih, "Bersediakah Anda memberi tahu saya jalan ke ..."
Contoh:

1. Would you tell me the way to Sukoharjo Regency Office?
2. Could you tell me the way to Hartono Mall?
3. Would you mind telling me the way to Solo Balapan Railway Station?

Ekspresi menanyakan arah yang lainnya:

• How could I get to ...
• How can I get to ...

Artinya, "Bagaimana saya bisa sampai ke ..."
Contoh:

1. How could I get Kedung Ombo Dam?
2. How can I get Alfa Mart?

Ekspresi menanyakan arah yang lainnya:

• Is this the way to ...

Artinya, "Apakah ini jalan menuju ..."
Contoh:

1. Is this the way to Sumber Lawang Market?
