Abbreviations are the shortened forms of words. They are very useful, especially when you need to take down notes quickly.

Here are three different ways to write abbreviations:

1. Shorten a Long Word by Writing Down the Beginning of that Word (fem- feminine, diff- different)
2. Omit the Vowels of a Word (qlty – quality, tchr – teacher)
3. Write Just the First Letter and the Last Letter of a one-syllable Word (mt - mount, gl- girl)
